SRI Consulting Publishess 2008 China Report

Celebrating a Dozen Trusted Years in the Chinese Chemical Industry

MENLO PARK, CA. June 2, 2008 —China’s production capacity for chemicals continues to increase in almost every area, yet demand is outgrowing production capacity, leaving China to continue to import.  For the last ten years, commodity chemicals such as petrochemicals and polymers have been the growth drivers.  Strong growth in this area is expected to continue for at least the next five to ten years with new growth in the next generation of specialty chemicals.

Today, SRI Consulting (SRIC) released its 2008 China Report: Chemical Product Trends, providing the most trusted market information, supply/demand, trends, and historical data on the China chemical industry.

Guangdong Qu, Regional Vice President at SRIC in Beijing, commented, “China’s chemical industry affects the business decisions of every chemical and chemical related company in the world. Yet well-researched, complete, and accurate information with in-depth analysis and forecasts are difficult to find.”

First published in 1996, SRIC’s China Report: Chemical Product Trends now contains over 2100 pages, covering 146 chemical profiles and major industry overviews.  For this 2008 edition, 75 chemical profiles and overviews have been updated. New additions to the reports this year include profiles for EP Elastomers, Isobutene Rubber, Dimethyl Ether, 1-4-Butanediol, Polyacrylamides, Specialty Chemical Overview, Inorganic Chemical Industry Overview and Fertilizer Industry Overview.  The updated profiles and overviewsinclude data for 2007 and forecasts for 2008, 2011 and 2016.

The China Report: Chemical Product Trends is researched and developed by SRI Consulting’s Beijing office and combines independent research data obtained directly from major industry organizations and chemical manufacturers. The China Report: Chemical Product Trends includes most major chemicals and is cross checked with upstream and downstream products and by-products to provide the most accurate information available.  For additional information about the China Report: Chemical Product Trends, please visit www.sriconsulting.com/CHINA.
